The Desire Z is a touchscreen smartphone from HTC with adedicated slide-out keyboard. This HTC phone runs on the Android 2.2 (Froyo) operating system. The device is powered by a 800 MHz Qualcomm MSM7230 processor and packs in 512 MB of RAM with an Adreno 205 GPU.

This Android mobile phone from HTC sports a 3.7-inch screen with 480 x 800 pixel resolution. The Desire Z uses the HTC Sense UI, that empowers you to track your phone, in case you misplace it. By logging into your account on HTCSense.com, you can forward calls to another number, if you happen to forget your phone. If your handset is stolen or lost, you can lock and remove personal data from the phone and also trace it.

The HTC mobile features a 5 megapixel camera with auto focus and flash. The phone camera comes with720p HD video recording capability and has built-in effects like depth of field, vignette and others. The camera also has face detection and geo-tagging capabilities.

Storage and Battery

This HTC smartphone ships with 1.5 GB of internal phone storage. The device is microSD 2.0 compatible and a microSD card can be used to expand the phone memory up to 32 GB. The HTC handset uses a 1300 mAh standard Li-ion battery that gives talk time of up to 240 minutes and standby time of 120 hours.

Connectivity and Features

Internet connectivity on the Desire Z phone is possible through GPRS, EDGE, Wi-Fi and 3G. The connectors lined up in the handset include a 3.5 mm stereo audio jack, a 5-pin micro-USB 2.0 and Bluetooth. This smartphone comes with USB and Wi-Fi tethering ability and also features Internal GPS antenna.

The HTC device comes pre-loaded with HTC widgets and integrates social networking features. The Friend Stream feature lets you bring all your social networking contacts to a single display screen.

Users can also sync multiple email accounts and get all the mails in one unified inbox. The HTC handset features Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync and Adobe Flash support. The Desire Z also comes with DLNA support, which lets users connect the phone to compatible televisions.
