The Elm is a candybar handset from Sony Ericsson's Green Heart Range. This 3G phone from Sony Ericsson is manufactured with minimal CO2 emission and is made from recycled plastic that is free from hazardous chemicals. The Elm ships in a slimmer packaging and features a emanual instead of a printed one.

The 5 MP camera on the Elm features an LED flash and supports up to 4X digital zoom with autofocus.

Design

The Elm sports a typical candybar chassis with a sleek matt panel and large convex buttons. The rear of the handset is made into a smooth convex bulge for a more comfortable grip. Despite being crafted from recycled materials, the Sony Ericsson Elm doesn't look or feel cheap.

Connectivity & Features

Sony Ericsson Elm comes with built in Wi-Fi , A-GPS technology, HSPA high-speed mobile network data connectivity and a full array of multimedia features. This 3G handset from Sony Ericsson offers a solid set of social networking apps including Facebook, MySpace and Twitter. The Elm features Sony's Noise Shield' technology, which blocks out background noises, so you can have clearer conversations. The Sony Ericsson Elm comes with the SensMe feature, which displays your music on a graph of happy/sad and fast/slow, and TrackID, which can identify songs based on a short clip.

This mid-range 3G phone comes preloaded with a useful set of ecofriendly apps like the Green Calculatorwhich calculates your CO2 emissions and a fun EcoMate game. The Elm sports a dedicated key for access to theSony Ericsson Activity Menu, which in turn brings up a customisable tabbed list that you can populate with shortcuts, widgets and apps of your choice. The Elm comes with a useful Navpad that fires up five shortcuts to Calendar, Facebook, MySpace, Twitter and WalkMate.

The Sony Ericsson Elm is powered by a Li-Po 1000 mAh battrey that gives a talktime of 10 hrs on 2G and 4 hrs on 3G networks. This 3G smartphone comes with 256 MB of internal memory and supports microSD cards up to 16GB. This phone uses an enviorment friendly low-power consuption charger instead of a conventional charger.
